Pest Control

Spider

No one likes bugs and pest lurking in cracks and crevices of your home or crawling along the counters of the employee lounge. They are creepy, they bite, sting, some can spread diseases and others can damage your residential or commercial property.

The Carolinas has an abundance of pest and many are looking for ways to invade your home and make it theirs, and even though you may have not see those creepy crawlers in your property doesn’t mean they haven’t arrived.

Bug and pest infestations are not always visibly apparent, and it can be very frustrating once they have moved in. Insects tend to invade through small crevices in the finish of your home or business. Mice and rats often go unnoticed because they are nocturnal creatures – moving through your home and workspace during the evening hours, once the lights are out.

Below are a few pest warning signs:

Rodents

If you notice droppings or urine odors, gnawing marks, scrapping and scampering noises in and around walls, there is a good chance you have mice or rats. Droppings are small in size, brown in color, with pointy ends.

Spiders

Spiders are typically looking for something to eat. If you have spiders in your property, it’s highly likely your home has a plentiful supply of pest for the spider to prey upon. A spider infestation is a good indicator of un underlying pest infestation.

Termites

The most common termite found in North and South Carolina and throughout the United States is the Eastern Subterranean Termite! On average, there are 13 to 14 termite colonies per half acre, and with numbers reaching one million termites per colony, its no wonder people are on the lookout to prevent termite activity in their home.

North and South Carolina are in “high risk” zones for termite activity. Termites are most commonly found during home renovations and remodeling, swarming around the house, or mud tubes found on the exterior foundation or garage wall areas!

Cockroaches

A nocturnal creature by nature, cockroaches can be hard to detect. Roaches eat a variety of things commonly found in homes, and leave feces that resemble small grains of pepper and brown stains. They also produce a musty odor that can get worse as the infestation goes untreated.

Ants

With over 20+ Ant species located in North and South Carolina, identification is key in ant control for residential and commercial properties. From little black ants in the home (odorous) searching for sweets or water in the house, to fire ants building mounds in the yard and taking over. Segue Environmental technicians are trained to identify, and eliminate ant colonies for good.
